The DS5 is the biggest clay roof tile currently available.
With
its huge size it is especially appealing for projects with bigger roof surfaces,
since it is very economical. But it has also proven itself in smaller projects.
It is most suitable for re-roofs, if there is a legal restriction for
materials that weigh more than 7 lbs/sqft (PSF).
With 7 standard colors available,
there is one for everyone to choose. The DS5 is a real
clay tile, that has the weight characteristics of a "light weight tile".
The DS5 has got non of the disadvantages of a "light-weight tile", like being
brittle,
easy breaking, hard to install and so on.
The DS5's huge size allows for the 6.7 lbs per
sqft. (to be under the 7 lbs./sqft. restriction). The design team created a
tile with outstanding features like interlocking, a "double-V" lip around the tile that makes water or snow penetration virtually
impossible.
Like all other tiles from Team Fritz Clay Roof Tiles they have met and exceeded rigorous freeze-thaw testing
(>150 cycles) as well as breakage testing in excess of 1.6 KN.
All these tests well exceed the ASTM Standards.
This tile comes with a free transferable 30 year limited manufacturers
